HabitBeast Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

HabitBeast ("the App") is operated by Social Sin LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use HabitBeast.

By using HabitBeast, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information You Provide

Email address — used for account creation and authentication
Monster name — the name you choose for your in-game monster (not required to be a real name)
Habit data — habits you select and track (habit types, completion status, streak counts, tier progression)
Battle data — battle actions earned, challenge history, win/loss records

2b. Information Collected Automatically

Usage data — app screens visited, features used, session duration (via Firebase Analytics)
Crash reports — error logs and stack traces when the app crashes (via Firebase Crashlytics)
Device information — device type, operating system version, app version (for crash diagnostics only)

2c. Information We Do NOT Collect

Real name, physical address, or phone number
Location data
Contacts or calendar data
Photos or camera data
Financial information (payment and billing are handled entirely by Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and RevenueCat — we never see your card details)

3. How We Use Your Information

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud) in the us-central1 region
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (Firebase default encryption)
Access to your data is controlled by Firebase Security Rules — only you can access your own habit and battle data

5. Third-Party Services

HabitBeast uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Firebase Analytics may collect anonymized, aggregated data about app usage. This data cannot be used to identify you individually.

RevenueCat receives your anonymized app user ID and purchase receipt data solely to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat does not receive your payment details — those remain with Apple or Google.

6. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

HabitBeast offers optional paid subscriptions ("Beast Mode") and a one-time lifetime purchase ("Founding Beast") through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

What we collect: We receive a subscription status (active, expired, or lifetime) from RevenueCat after your purchase is verified by Apple or Google. We do not receive your payment method, card details, or billing address.
Subscription management: You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device's App Store or Google Play account settings.
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies — we cannot issue refunds directly.
Existing users grandfathered: Users who joined before May 2026 have been granted lifetime founder access at no charge.

7. Leaderboards

If you choose to appear on the leaderboard (opt-in setting), your monster name and level will be visible to other players. Your email address is never visible to other players.

You can opt out of the leaderboard at any time in your Profile settings.

8. Children's Privacy

HabitBeast is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access — request a copy of your personal data
Deletion — delete your account and all associated data
Correction — update inaccurate information in your profile
Opt-out — disable analytics tracking or leaderboard visibility

Deleting Your Account

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at socialsinllc@gmail.com with the subject line "Delete My Account." Include the email address associated with your account.

Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of your request.

10. Data Retention

Active accounts: Data retained while your account is active
Deleted accounts: All personal data deleted within 30 days
Anonymized analytics: Aggregated, non-identifiable data may be retained indefinitely

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
